Overview

The Test Automation Lead is responsible for defining, developing, and leading automated testing strategies for PLM solutions, with a strong focus on ENOVIA, CATIA, and Inventor. This role requires hands-on expertise in automation tools such as Selenium and TestComplete, along with a strong interest in exploring and adopting new tools and frameworks to enhance automation coverage across complex CAD and PLM environments.

You will work closely with Solution Architects, developers, functional consultants, and customer teams to ensure high-quality, reliable, and scalable PLM solutions.

Detailed Job Description

  • Test Strategy & Planning
       
    • Define the overall testing approach for the upgrade project, including regression testing, integration testing, and user acceptance support.
    •  
    • Build and maintain a structured test plan aligned with the project timeline and business priorities.
    •  
    • Define the scope of manual vs. automated tests based on risk, effort, and tooling constraints.
  •  
  • Test Management & Coordination
       
    • Supervise and coordinate a team of 2-3 testers throughout all phases of testing.
    •  
    • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to test plans and quality standards.
    •  
    • Facilitate daily syncs or weekly checkpoints with the test team and report progress to the project lead.
  •  
  • Tool Management (Jira / XRay)
       
    • Set up and maintain test cycles, test plans, and traceability matrices in XRay.
    •  
    • Ensure proper linkage between test cases, user stories, and defects in Jira.
    •  
    • Monitor defect lifecycle, ensuring timely resolution and proper communication with functional, technical, and business teams.
  •  
  • Automation Coordination (Selenium, Test Complete)
       
    • Oversee & participate in the execution of existing Selenium, Test Complete automated tests and identify opportunities for expansion based on critical regression scenarios.
    •  
    • Collaborate with developers and automation engineers for test script maintenance and reporting.
  •  
  • Risk & Quality Assurance
       
    • Identify high-risk areas and ensure focused test coverage.
    •  
    • Participate in defect triage meetings and provide recommendations on go/no-go decisions for releases.
    •  
    • Support the project team in validating environment readiness for each test phase.
  •  
  • Stakeholder Communication
       
    • Work closely with business representatives, stream leads, and IT to ensure test coverage meets business needs.
    • Report regularly on test progress, quality status, and defect trends to the project steering committee

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications arepreferred:

·       Bachelor’s degree in ComputerScience, Engineering, or a related field

·       Strong hands-on experience with Selenium and TestComplete

·       Exposure to testing or automating ENOVIA, CATIA, and/or Autodesk Inventor

·       Experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies andtest management processes

·       Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD integration for automated testing
